Lift your eyes, oh see the promise

made to prophets long ago,

One who comes to crush the serpent

stands upon His conquered foe.

Rises from the gates that held him,

breaks the seal upon His grave,

rises whole, and round about Him

crowd the souls His life has saved.

All the fathers ever promised

all the hopes they hoped in trust

all fulfilled within the Christ man

all proclaiming God is just.

God is love and God is mercy

God in kindness comes for man

God will face our death and conquer

God will rise to life gain.

See Him triumph over darkness,

now begotten from the dead,

raised the firstborn of His brethren

made the true and living Head.

Through this man is our deliverance

from every law we could not face

perfect, holy satisfaction,

granted us through matchless grace.

–

Surely now our Lord has risen

sends the Helper for our need,

intercedes for all our failings,

Christ our Lord is raised indeed!

Now we see His glory dimly,

dying seeds in earth we’re sown

soon to rise to Him in glory

when He comes to claim His own.
