Jesus came to heal the sick

the weak, the sad, the sore,

the ones stretched out in dire need

the wretched and the poor.

–

You thought He only saved from sins?

But Have you never read:

–

Lame men walked and

mute men talked.

Peter’s mother lived.

–

Where e’er they met him, demons fled,

a paralytic took his bed,

arose, and went back home.

–

A woman’s bleeding, sudden, ceased,

ten lepers came before a priest,

a withered hand was put to right,

a man born blind received his sight,

from far away a girl was healed

by faith into the Word revealed

–

Lazarus came forth!

–

Jesus came to heal mankind, fulfill the prophet’s word

to bear our sorrows and our death—all on Him transferred.

–

“He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.'” ~ Matthew 8:16-17
