Shrouded Path

Steps of slapping leather, on the rain-slicked stone

mist like drapes of ghost-light, gauzing path to home.

The road winds, disappearing, into a foggy shroud

as bobbing luminescents try to light the cloud.

Off ahead a shout–of horror or success–

a mist’ry trail adventure that you can only guess.
